SCORE! “The Art of the Video Games” on Tour
The exhibition The Art of Video Games which was one of the firstĀ ”to explore the forty-year evolution of video games as an artistic medium,”1 was held at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. this past Spring and Summer. Eighty games, from Atari VCS to current day PlayStation 3, were featured in the exhibition along with video interviews with game designers and developers. Games included in the show were voted upon by the general public.1
If you missed the show, it’s currently on a ten city national tour. You should be able to see it if it comes to a town near you. The Art of Video Games is currently at the Boca Raton Museum of Art in Boca Raton, Florida and runs through January 20, 2013. From there the show heads to the EMP Museum in Seattle, Washington.
